Dalai Lama’s Android App Launched – Details here

Following the launch of iPhone App of the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama, an android app has been launch on Monday according to the report in the official website of his office. The Dalai Lama app from the office of his personal trust will provide the means for the followers to stay up to date with His Holiness.

“Announcing the release of the official Dalai Lama app for Android now available for download here. Dalai Lama, the official app from the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, lets you stay up to date with what His Holiness is doing, his travels, and his teachings. Get official news, videos, and photos from His Holiness’s Office, including live video streams when they are available.” said the report in the official website of his office.

The office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama launched the iOS Dalai Lama app in December last year. The app was launched coinciding with His Holiness’s visit to the Drepung Monastery and the anniversary of Je Tsongkhapa, founder of the Gelukpa Tradition last year.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who is now 82 years old fled from Tibet at the age of 23 following Chinese invasion and till now he has been in exile. However, due to his non-violent approach and teachings of love, compassion and peace, the Dalai Lama is one of the most well known leaders of the world today.

The Dalai Lama is being followed by more than 16.6 million people on Twitter while he has more than 13.8 million followers Facebook. However, in addition to the social media accounts, the Dalai Lama app on Apple store has been banned inside China and it is also obvious that the android version of His Holiness’s app on Play store would be banned there.
