US Ambassador to India Visits Dalai Lama in Dharamsala

The US Ambassador to India on Wednesday visit the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama at his residence in Dharamsala during his two day visit to the exile Tibetan headquarters. The Ambassador during the visit was accompanied by a four person delegation from their office, the US Embassay, New Delhi.

Kenneth Juster, the US Ambassador to India arrived in the Himalayan town on Thursday and he was accompanied by a four-member delegation from the US embassy which comprised of special assistant Anood Taqui; deputy political minister counselor Derek Westfall; and Thomas Kress and Raj Marwaha of USAID.

The Ambassador while speaking to the media following his meeting with His Holiness told that he is inspired by Dalai Lama’s views on how inner peace of individuals can bring broader peace to mankind, saying that he has tremendous experience from the meeting and hoping his visit to the US in the future.

“The meeting with His Holiness was tremendous. He is a very inspirational figure. We had a wonderful discussion. It would be terrific if he were able at some point to travel to America, our talks covered a range of subjects but most important was his view about how the inner peace of individuals can spread and bring broader peace to mankind, “ Kenneth Juster just after the meeting.

Central Tibetan Administration hosted a dinner reception to the Ambassador and his group. The group was also presented cultural performances by the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts. In addition to that, the group visit the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan Children’s Village in Dharamsala.
