Dalai Lama to Attend World Hindu Congress in Chicago

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama is reported to have consented to attend a mega event in Chicago this September according to the report in the Print on Monday. The Tibetan spiritual leader is among the list of special high profile guests of the World Hindu Congress which is expected to be attended by actors, politicians, corporate leaders and religious leaders alike.

“Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and Pranav Pandya from Gayatri Parivar are among the religious leaders who have consented to attend the event.” published the report in The Print on Monday that added that the mega event in Chicago is expected to be attended by more than 2,000 Hindu delegates from over 50 countries.

Though the given schedule is not reflected in the official website of the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, it is the only event presently scheduled in the United States after his office suspended prior scheduled visits to the country due to exhaustion.

Recently, Indian government has been hesitant at attending mega events featuring the Tibetan spiritual leader so as not to irritate the Beijing government, the World Hindu Congress which is scheduled from September 7-9, will also be addressed by the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is expected to be attended by the likes of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Uttar Pradesh and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis from Maharashtra.

The Tibetan spiritual leader though is supposed to have cut down a majority of his schedules for foreign events, the official website of his office lists a continuous sequence of programs in India and Europe starting from June at the moment.

    Modi didn’t invite HH Dalai Lama to Buddha Jayanti celebration on Delhi. so, HHDL is going to a Hindu celebration instead. it should be the opposite actually.
