Indo-Tibetan Border Police Practice Yoga in Himalayas

In an interesting outbreak in the social media, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, ITBP personals are seen practicing yoga in the chilly Himalayan ranges according to the pictures shared by its official Twitter handle. The ITPB is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of India and deployed to along the borders China occupied Tibet.

While the pictures of the police personals practicing yoga in the snow cladded terrains of Himalayas surfaces, it was more interestingly seen them doing the exercise with bare bodies. As being shared in the social media, people seems to have appreciated the update from the frontier force as it resembled the ground reality of these personals to the general public.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of India, raised on 24 October 1962, under the CRPF Act, in the wake of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. The ITBP was intended for deployment along India’s border with China’s Tibet Autonomous Region.

They are deployed from the Karakarom Pass in Jammu and Kashmir to Jechap La in Arunachal, guarding a 3,488-km long Line of Actual Control (LAC) across 5 states and their border posts are located at altitudes ranging from 3,000-19,000 feet. The ITBP is trained in Civil Medical Camp, disaster management, and nuclear, biological and chemical disasters.
