China is Hunting for Dalai Lama Loyalists on Local Tips

The Chinese government has issued a circular directing the local Tibetans to look out for the Dalai Lama loyalists and provide tips to their security agencies. The order from the Chinese government warns the Tibetans against the exiled spiritual leader loyalists and guides on how to report such loyalist to the security agencies.

The public security bureau in Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region in a bid to suppress the pro-Tibet activities in Tibet, has released details on how the public can provide tips on activities of “criminal gangs connected to the separatist forces of the Dalai Lama.” It warns the local people to lookout for the forces of the Dalai Lama that might use their controls “to confuse and incite” people against the Party and government.

People having any information about infiltration by any sort of secretive gangs, groups or missionaries loyal to the Dalai Lama is urged to report to any local public and national-security bureau and promised that the public security departments will protect tipsters’ identities and safety according to the circular which listed 22 illegal activities that Beijing wants people to report, three of which directly mentioned the Dalai Lama.

While China is describing the Tibetan spiritual leader as a hostile force instigating separatism inside Tibet which is occupied by China, His Holiness the Dalai Lama is revered as one of the leader peace makers across the world for his continued efforts to resolve the Tibet issue through non-violent ways. Middle Way Policy proposed by the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration demands a mutually beneficial resolution of Tibet issue, which instead of separating Tibet from China, calls for a genuine autonomy for Tibet within the framework of Chinese leadership.

However, this proposal is not acknowledged by the Chinese government accusing it of a separatist approach in disguise, denying to trust the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan administration and thus continues to control over Tibet.
