The Tibetan spiritual leader while visiting the Indian state of Odisha spoke to the Tibetan community there and reaffirmed that the Tibetans in Tibet and Exile will come together once again. His Holiness the Dalai Lama reassured the Tibetan community gathered to seek his audience that the time will when Tibetans inside and outside Tibet will come together once again.
“We live as refugees, but we have kept our traditions alive. Our spirit is resilient and strong. The time will come when Tibetans in Tibet and those in exile come together again.” said His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Tuesday according to the report in the official website of his office.
“His Holiness regaled the audience with the importance of study for personal satisfaction and to preserve the Buddha’s teaching. He told them that 40 years ago he urged monasteries and nunneries that had previously concerned themselves mostly with performance of rituals, to develop programs of study.” added the report about the special audience given to a gathering of more than 1600 Tibetans from Phuntsokling Settlement in Chandragiri at the KIIT auditorium.
His Holiness also decided to lead the community in a brief ceremony for generating the awakening mind of bodhichitta stating that he might not be able to visit them so often in the future.
Earlier on November 17 while His Holiness the Dalai Lama was greeted by a group of tearful Tibetans at the Gaggal Airport in Dharamshala just before setting off to Delhi, he also consoled them that he will never forget Tibet and if China agrees, he would immediately return to Tibet.
“I will never forget. If the Chinese government agrees (genuine autonomy to Tibetans), I will return to Tibet at once,” His Holiness told while blessing the Tibetan group. His Holiness has always very optimistic of resolving the issue of Tibet in life time as we can recall from his past interviews where expressed his belief that the issue will be resolved in his life time.
Since fleeing in exile to India from Tibet in March 1959, the Tibetan spiritual leader has been living in India for the past six decades. While the issue of Tibet remains an important question not only for the Tibetans but for the whole world, His Holiness has been calling himself a son of India, with nutrition of rice and dal, mind full of ancient Indian philosophy. He calls India his second home head quartered in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh India.
