Tibetan Unity President Dr. Lobsang Sangay’s Core Policy

Tibetan unity president Dr. Lobsang Sangay’s core policy said the report in the official website of Central Tibetan Administration yesterday. While the row over the Kashag decision in ousting the former speaker Penpa Tsering from Representative to the North America created a huge uproar in the public, Dr. Sangay reassured that unity among the Tibetans is core of his policies.

“Dr. Sangay in his address highlighted the importance of unity among Tibetans, the unity that His Holiness has called for since the 1960s, a unity that is unshadowed by regionalism and sectarianism. And to further strengthen that unity among Tibetans in Tibet and in Exile is a part of the vision of the Five-Fifty campaign of the Kashag,” said the report in Tibet.net on Tuesday when the president was on in Toronto during his official visit to Canada on Sunday, 19 November.

Despite all the criticism poured out against the President led cabinet over not having transparency in the issue of ousting the representative even after making ten points of clarifications to the public, Dr. Lobsang Sangay answered to queries regarding the issue during the interaction.

Referring to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s untiring efforts to revive the Tibetan culture and identity in exile, the CTA president urged the Tibetan community in Canada to “integrate but not assimilate.” He said that the Tibetan community irrespective of the citizenship they hold must preserve their identity.

“If we all work together, the dreams and the aspirations of the Tibetan people in Tibet and in exile will be fulfilled.” urged Dr. Lobsang Sangay not to forget the courage and resilience of the Tibetans inside Tibet, highlighting that more than 149 Tibetans assorted to self-immolation for the cause of Tibet inside Tibet sacrificing their lives.
