China Troubles Football Club AC Milan Deal For Hosting The Dalai Lama

AC Milan deal which is one of the most high profile deals made by the Chinese soccer investors till now is being targeted as a way to take revenge for hosting the Dalai Lama in Milan last October. This soccer acquisition deal by the Chinese group of investors has not been allowed to send the deal money out of China by the government to complete the acquisition.

“During a European tour in October, the Dalai Lama paid a visit to Milan, where the mayor presented him with a key to the city and made him an honorary Milanese citizen.” said a report in the Bloomberg.

The visit by His Holiness the Dalai Lama was strongly disapproved and warned against by the Chinese Embassy in Rome as well as by the Beijing government. Specifically, they said the visit “seriously wounded the feelings of the Chinese people” and would have a “negative impact. “The Beijing government was extremely fumed by the special reception extended to the Dalai Lama in Milan.

China’s revenge action against Milan comes in the form of troubling the existing business deals such as the Football Club AC Milan Chinese buyout deal. Sino-Europe Sports Investment Management Changxing, the Chinese group of investors in this deal has been troubled in a way to take revenge against Milan for hosting the Dalai Lama.

“Eager in general to keep Chinese investment in the country and particularly unhappy to see it land in Milan, Chinese authorities are blocking Sino-Europe Sports Investment Management Changxing from transferring funds from China to complete the 740-million-euro ($785 million) deal, the people said.” added the report in the Bloomberg.

The 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet fled to exile in 1959 after China conquered Tibet. The Dalai Lama, who leads the Tibetans has been asking the Beijing authorities to resolve the issue of Tibet through dialogue in a peaceful manner in order to restore basic human rights inside Tibet. The Dalai Lama was conferred the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.

However, China claiming Tibet as an integral part of China accuses the Dalai Lama of brewing separatist activities against China. China is warning against every other country for hosting the Dalai Lama and they keep telling the world to follow their way or face consequences in economic activities!
