Over 30 houses and shops have been burnt in a massive fire caught in a town called Dirang in the North East state, Arunachal Pradesh in the afternoon of Saturday. According to the news report, the Indo Tibetan Border Police have launched rescue operation and more than 100 people and their properties have been rescued.

“Over 100 civilians were rescued by Indo-Tibetan Border Police after a massive fire razed around 30 houses and shops in Dirang town in the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. Rescue operations are underway in the affected area. There have been no reports of any casualties so far and as per the twitter handle of ITBP, property ‘worth lakhs’ was saved from being destroyed. Also, the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.” said the report in the Indian Express.

The ITBP official twitter handle shared their efforts on the social media informing of the incident where they report to have save around 100 civilians and property worth lakhs. They also reported to have provided the affect civilians with food and care.

Though the cause of fire and other details are yet to be known, the Union minister Kiren Rijiju also shared a video of the tragic incident on the social media promising that the government will do every for the relief and rehabilitation of the affected people.
